Preserving the Ancient City of Babylon

AL HILLAH — Soldiers of the 172nd Infantry Brigade are enabling documentarians, historians and preservationists as they work to ensure ancient Iraqi history is preserved and documented in Babil province.

The Soldiers provide these experts transportation and security as they conduct site surveys of Babylon, an ancient city near the modern city of Hillah

Taking Out the Trash in Basrah

BAGHDAD — The Iraqi Ministry of Interior celebrated the graduation of 35 Iraqi Police officers from the Criminal Evidence Lab course, July 2. The officers learned scientific tests and techniques used in the investigation of crimes and crime scenes.

The week-long course was designed to give Iraqi National Police and local police from Baghdad's Abu T-Shir area the skills necessary to better treat their wounded since U.S. combat forces have withdrawn from Iraqi cities.
