Roadside bomb strikes MND-B patrol
Multi-National Division – Baghdad Public Affairs

BAGHDAD –
Iraqi security forces and Soldiers from Multi-National Division – Baghdad conducted patrols March 17, as part of Operation Fardh Al-Qanoon to help set the conditions for a stable Iraq.

During a patrol in western Baghdad, an improvised explosive device detonated and killed four U.S. Soldiers and wounding another. Small arms fire followed the blast wounding one additional Soldier.

During the month of March, units from this battalion have successfully found eight caches, two IEDs and aided in the rescue of a kidnap victim. The unit also established a Joint Security Station in the area.

The deceased Soldiers’ names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
