Iraqi Police detain driver of car bomb
Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO 4th BCT (Airborne), 25th Inf. Div. Public Affairs

FOB KALSU, Iraq — A parked vehicle borne improvised explosive device detonated
wounding two Iraqi Policemen and one civilian March 23 north of An Najaf.
An individual, identified as the vehicle driver, was detained and is in custody of
the Najaf Iraqi Police.

Additional Iraqi security forces responded to the attack, secured the site and took
the injured to a nearby medical facility.

The incident is under investigation.

Paratroopers of the 2nd Battalion, 377th Parachute Field Artillery Regiment, 4th
Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division received the report,n“This incident highlighted the importance and effectiveness of IP check points and provincial security since the achievement of provincial Iraqi control late last year,” said Maj. Eric Verzola, 4th BCT (ABN), 25th Inf. Div. spokesman.
