Roadside bomb, small arms fire targets MND-B patrol

Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO

BAGHDAD –
An MND-B Soldier died and three others were wounded when their vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device, followed by small arms fire in a southwestern section of  the Iraqi capital April 21. The unit was conducting a combat patrol in the area when the attack occurred.

Iraqi security forces and Multi-National Division – Baghdad Soldiers continue conducting operations in support of Operation Fardh Al-Qanoon, helping set the conditions for a stable, secure and self-reliant Iraq.

Soldiers in this unit continue to conduct joint cordon and search operations in southern Baghdad in support of Operation Fardh al-Qanoon. Clearing and controlling these neighborhoods provides a more secure environment for the local Iraqi citizens.    

The deceased Soldier’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin and release by the Department of Defense.
