One extremist killed, one wounded near Diyala Operations Center
Multi-National Division – North PAO
BAQOUBA, Iraq – Iraqi Army and Coalition Forces in charge of security at the Diyala Government Center and the Diyala Operations Center, engaged and killed one gunmen and wounded another, June 13.
The Soldiers assigned to 2nd Brigade, 5th Iraqi Army and 1-12th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, observed AIF aiming a rocket-propelled grenade at the Government Center and engaged and killed one, wounding another.
In other combat operations:
25th Combat Aviation Brigade attack helicopters, armed with missiles, engaged and destroyed a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device in Kan Bani Sa’ad. Aviators from the 1st Squadron 82nd Attack Reconnaissance Battalion engaged two AIF who were loading explosives into a vehicle, killing both and destroying the vehicle with a missile. A secondary explosion resulted from the explosives inside the vehicle.
