Iraqi Army raid terrorist enclaves in Diyala
Multi-National Division – North PAO

TIKRIT, Iraq – Iraqi Soldiers conducted a series of raids, killing one unknown gunman and detaining 25 others, during operations in Sufait, Diyala, June 27.

Iraqi Soldiers from 1st Battalion, 3rd Brigade, 5th Iraqi Army reported killing an unidentified gunman suspected of carrying a suicide vest during one of a series of raids in the area. 

IA Soldiers detained twenty five other suspects and seized multiple weapons caches with AK-47s, heavy machine guns, improvised explosive device making materials, and computer hardware inside the target areas.

Earlier in the day, 1/3/5IA Soldiers reported receiving small-arms fire from a gunman inside a building.  The IA Soldiers eventually detained the gunman, who later led them to two buried IEDs.
