Multi-National Corps – Iraq Public Affairs Office, Camp Victory APO AE 09342 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE RELEASE No. 20070702-06 July 2, 2007 Iraqi Security Forces detain suspected terrorist responsible for sniper attacks Multi-National Corps – Iraq PAO BAGHDAD – Iraqi Security Forces detained a suspected terrorist who is believed to be part of an insurgent sniper cell during an early-morning operation June 30 in Baghdad. The suspected terrorist is allegedly responsible for a sniper attack that killed three Iraqi sanitation workers as they cleaned the streets and for emplacing an improvised explosive device that resulted in the deaths of four Iraqi Police members. During the operation, Iraqi Forces raided the house and detained their primary suspect without incident. This operation will disrupt the terrorists’ ability to conduct attacks against innocent civilians and Iraqi and Coalition Forces. Coalition Forces served as advisors during the operation.
