MND-B patrol struck by explosive formed projectile
Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO


BAGHDAD — Two Multi-National Division - Baghdad Soldiers were killed and two other Soldiers were wounded when an explosive formed projectile detonated near their patrol during combat operations in a southern section of the Iraqi capital July 5.
 
Units operating in this area of Baghdad continue to conduct clearing operations in an effort to destroy and disrupt insurgent networks. Sustained operations of this nature are designed to reduce sectarian violence and help set the conditions for the improvement of essential services, economic growth and aid in the overall transition of security operations with Iraqi Security Forces in the lead.
 
The deceased Soldiers’ names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin and release by the Department of Defense.
