Statement from Multi-National Force-Iraq condemning murder in Karmah

BAGHDAD, Iraq – Multi-National Force - Iraq condemns the barbaric killing of eleven Iraqi women and children Wednesday in Karmah.  Anti-Iraqi extremists abducted the women and children, locked them in a building, and then destroyed the building with explosives, killing all inside. 

This cowardly act in Karmah makes clear the evil intent of the foreign terrorists who comprise and lead the Al Qaeda in Iraq membership.  Every one of these acts hurts all Iraqi people, because it seeks to not only to destroy lives, but also to darken their chance for a better future.

With the help of Iraqi Security Forces and the Coalition, more of Iraq is breaking free from the clutches of Al Qaeda.  It is clear the Iraqi people have tired of the horrific tactics and oppressive goals of anti-Iraqi forces.  In record numbers, Iraqis are cooperating bravely with Iraqi and Coalition Forces.  This will make a difference in defeating the enemy that murders women and children like they did in Karmah.
