MND-B Soldier attacked during combat operations
Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO


BAGHDAD — A Multi-National Division-Baghdad Soldier was attacked during combat operations in a western section of the Iraqi capital Aug. 13.


While conducting combat operations in this area of Baghdad, elements from this unit have recently found numerous weapons caches yielding more than 100 mortar rounds, 80 gallons of nitric acid, a precursor in the fabrication of
homemade explosives, and a variety of materials used to build improvised explosive devices.


The deceased Soldier’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin and release by the Department of Defense.
