Soldier attacked in vehicle explosion
Multi-National Corps – Iraq PAO

AL ASAD, Iraq – A U.S. Soldier was killed as a result of injuries sustained from a vehicle explosion during a vehicle recovery operation in Al Anbar province Dec. 3.

Additionally, two other U.S. servicemembers were wounded in the explosion and transported to a Coalition Forces medical facility for further evaluation and treatment.

The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin and release by the Department of Defense.   

The incident is under investigation.
