Multi-National Corps – Iraq Public Affairs Office, Camp Victory APO AE 09342 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE RELEASE No. 20080209-14 February 9, 2008 City of Hit to demilitarize Multi National Force – West PAO AL ASAD AIRBASE, Iraq – Iraqi Security Forces are scheduled to assume responsibility of the city of Hit from Task Force 1st Battalion, 7th Marines Feb. 14. It is the largest demilitarization of an Anbar city to date. “Just a little over a year ago, the city of Hit was being torn to pieces by gangs of terrorists and insurgents whose attacks and murders spared no one from horror and suffering,” said Lt. Col.
