MND-B Soldiers kill 15 criminals BAGHDAD – Multi-National Division – Baghdad Soldiers engaged and killed 15 criminals in separate engagements in Baghdad April 22. At approximately 6:15 p.m., Soldiers from 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, witnessed a criminal emplacing an improvised explosive device in northeast Baghdad. Soldiers shot and killed the criminal. Unmanned aerial vehicle operators from 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, spotted two individuals with a mortar tube. They loaded the weapon into a vehicle and drove off in northeastern Baghdad at approximately 7:25 p.m. At approximately 8:50 p.m., the UAV fired one hellfire missile, killing two criminals and destroying one vehicle. At approximately 7:45 p.m., Soldiers from 1st Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, attached to 3rd BCT, 4th Inf. Div., engaged and killed one criminal after coming under a small-arms fire in northeastern Baghdad. Soldiers from 3rd BCT, 4th Inf., Div., were attacked with an IED by criminals while they were conducting a mounted patrol in eastern Baghdad at approximately 9:45 p.m. Soldiers were then attacked with rocket-propelled grenades. Soldiers identified the criminals’ location and engaged them with small-arms fire, killing six criminals. Soldiers from 3rd BCT, 4th Inf., Div., were attacked with RPGs at approximately 9:50 p.m. in eastern Baghdad. Soldiers identified two separate RPG teams and retuned fire, killing five criminals. “Along with our Iraqi Security Forces partners, we are targeting individual terrorists, criminal networks, and anyone involved in violent crimes against the Iraqi people,” said Lt. Col. Steven Stover, spokesman, MND-B and 4th Inf.
