MND-B UAV kills 2 special group criminals; Iraqi Army, National Police seize munitions caches 


Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO
BAGHDAD – A Multi-National Division – Baghdad unmanned aerial vehicle killed two special groups criminals at approximately 3:30 p.m. April 26, in the Sadr City district of Baghdad.

The operators of the UAV observed as two criminals loaded a PKC machine gun into the trunk of a vehicle at approximately 2:40 p.m. The UAV operators then watched as four criminals unloaded the machine gun, as well as four AK-47 assault rifles, into the trunk of another vehicle.

The UAV followed then engaged that vehicle with a Hellfire missile, destroying it and killing the two occupants.
At approximately 2:30 p.m. soldiers from 4th Brigade, 2nd Iraqi Army Division seized a munitions cache of artillery rounds ranging from 82mm to 120mm rounds in western Baghdad.

At approximately 3:20 p.m., Iraqi Police from the 5th Brigade, 2nd Iraqi Police Division, seized a munitions cache in the West Rashid district of Baghdad. The Iraqi Police captured blocks of C4 explosives and 107mm rockets.

"We continue to conduct precision targeting against special group criminals in order to provide security and stability for the people of Baghdad," said Lt. Col. Steven Stover, spokesman for Multi-National Division – Baghdad and the 4th Infantry Division. "We will protect the population against an enemy who fires rockets and mortars, small-arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades without regard for where they land."
