ISF, MND-B Soldiers engage criminals, take weapons off streets
Multi-National Division – Baghdad

BAGHDAD –Iraqi Security Forces and Multi-National Division – Baghdad Soldiers killed four militants and seized a number of weapons during operations in Baghdad June 2.
 
At approximately 5 a.m. in the Risalah area of Rashid, Iraqi National Policemen from the 5th Brigade, 2nd NP Division found 18 AK-47s, a 60 mm mortar round, 4,840 PKC rounds and a radio.
 
At approximately 1 p.m. in the Huriya area of Kadamiyah, Iraqi Army Soldiers from 2nd Battalion, 44th Brigade, 11th IA Division seized 55 AK-47s and four sniper rifles.
 
Soldiers from 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division were attacked with small-arms and machine gun fire at approximately 4 p.m. in the Shawra Uldir area of New Baghdad. Soldiers defended themselves and killed criminals.
 
At approximately 6:45 p.m., Soldiers from 4th BCT, 10th Mtn. Div., were attacked with rocket propelled grenades and small-arms fire in the same vicinity of the previous attack in Shawra Uldir. Soldiers again defended themselves and killed two criminals.
 
“In full partnership with Iraqi Security Forces, our primary mission is to protect the Iraqi People,” said Lt. Col. Steve Stover, spokesman for MND-B and 4th Inf. Div. “We will aggressively attack and pursue al-Qaeda in Iraq and all criminals. We also will defend ourselves and the Iraqi people from attack.”
