ISF, MND-B Soldiers detain three, seize weapons Multi-National Division – Baghdad BAGHDAD – The Iraqi Army and National Police turned in weapons in separate incidents throughout Baghdad, while Multi National Division – Baghdad Soldiers detained suspected criminals June 7. At approximately 12:30 p.m., June 7, policemen from the 2nd National Police Division turned in a weapons cache found in the Kadamiyah district to MND-B Soldiers. The cache, brought to the 2nd NP headquarters by a local citizen, consisted of a 60 mm mortar tube, two rockets, two smoke grenades, an 82 mm mortar round; 26, 82 mm mortar rounds; five 82 mm illumination mortar rounds; 42, 60 mm mortar rounds and a fragmentation grenade body. MND-B Soldiers from 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division detained three individuals at approximately 12:45 p.m. in southern Baghdad June 7. A tip from a civilian identified the three as suspected criminals and accomplices to IED attacks against Coalition forces. At approximately 3:15 p.m., Iraqi Army soldiers from 22nd Brigade, 6th Iraqi Army found a cache in the Kadamiyah District consisting of four 120 mm mortar rounds, a 155 mm artillery round, two rocket propelled grenade, two explosively-formed projectiles and an anti-tank mine. Soldiers from the 6th Iraqi Army turned a cache over at a nearby camp to Soldiers from 1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div., at approximately 6:30 p.m. June 7. The cache consisted of a 155 mm artillery round, four RPG-7’s, a 60 mm illumination round, six 82 mm mortar rounds; 17, 60 mm mortar rounds and three fuses. All of the munitions were examined by U.S. Explosive Ordnance Disposal experts and destroyed in a controlled environment.
