Coalition forces capture three Special Groups criminals in Kut

BAGHDAD, Iraq – Coalition forces captured three suspected outlaws during operations in Kut.

Acting on intelligence information, Coalition forces conducted a raid on the suspected residence of a Special Groups leader in the eastern part of Kut, about 180 km southeast of Baghdad. He is wanted for organizing and leading attacks against Iraqi Security Forces in that area.

Coalition forces raided the suspect’s residence where they captured three suspected Special Groups criminals, who told forces the targeted outlaw fled to Iran ahead of the upcoming crackdown against Special Groups by Iraqi Security Forces in the region.

“Iraqi Security and Coalition forces are removing safe havens for Special Groups criminals in Iraq,” said U.S. Army Capt. Charles Calio, MNF-I spokesperson.
