Multi-National Division – North PAO

MOSUL, Iraq – One citizen was killed and 40 were wounded, including a Sheik, during a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device attack 100 kilometers south of Mosul, in al Hawd Village, July 1.

Fifteen homes were also destroyed during the attack.

Iraqi Security Forces and Coalition force Soldiers responded to the attack, and ISF took the lead in controlling the situation.

The wounded were transported to a local medical facility for treatment.

“The indiscriminate targeting of citizens demonstrates their complete disregard for human life,” said Maj. Peggy Kageleiry, spokesperson for Task Force Iron.
