Multi-National Corps – IraqPublic Affairs Office, Camp VictoryAPO AE 09342 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE RELEASE No. 20080713-05July 13, 2008 MND-B Soldiers detain suspected Special Groups leader Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO BAGHDAD – Multi-National Division – Baghdad Soldiers detained a suspected Special Groups criminal leader and two associates in eastern Baghdad July 12.Soldiers from the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light) detained the suspected Special Groups leader while conducting an operation specifically targeting him. The suspected Special Groups officer in eastern Baghdad is believed to be directly involved in kidnapping, murder, extortion, sectarian indirect fire attacks and improvised explosive device attacks on a U.S. Soldiers. “Deatining this suspected criminal strikes a serious blow to Special Groups and their criminal attacks on innocent civilians and security forces in eastern Baghdad,” said Maj.
