Six suspects detained after IED strikes NP patrol in northern Baghdad
Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO

BAGHDAD – Six suspects were detained in connection with an improvised-explosive device attack against an Iraqi National Police patrol Sept. 16.

One National Policeman was killed in the attack earlier in the day and two were wounded.
An Iraqi citizen notified the Sha’ab Joint Operation Center about the location of those suspected to be responsible for the attack in northern Baghdad.

Iraqi Army and Multi-National Division – Baghdad Soldiers partnered together to detain the suspects at approximately 5 p.m. The six men were detained at an intersection near an unfinished Mosque in the Ur neighborhood of northern Baghdad.

“The good, law-abiding Iraqi citizens are tired of these attacks against the forces that are charged with protecting them,” said Lt. Col. John Digiambattista, operations officer for 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division. “In working together with our Iraqi brothers, we will hunt down, capture or kill those who seek to upset the peace and stability now blossoming in Iraq.”
