Command Sergeant Major Multi-National Force - Iraq Command Sergeant Major Lawrence Wilson
CSM Wilson was born in Austin, Texas. He entered the Army from Aberdeen, North Carolina in February of 1977. Following an eighteen month break in service, he re-entered in June 1981. He attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, followed by Advanced Individual Training as a combat engineer at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. His military education includes the Primary Non-commissioned Officer Course, Basic Non-commissioned Officer Course, Advanced Non-commissioned Officer Course, First Sergeant Course, United States Sergeants Major Academy, Jump Master Course, Sapper Course, and Recruiting School. CSM Wilson has served in leadership positions at every rank of the non-commissioned officer progression. Some of his duty positions include team leader, squad leader, platoon sergeant, operations sergeant, four assignments as first sergeant, engineer battalion CSM, and the 1st Brigade CSM for the 4th Infantry Division. He has also served as the Chief Enlisted Advisor for 5th Army Readiness Group and as a Field Recruiter/Station Commander at Hickory, North Carolina Recruiting Station. His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal (3rd award), the Army Commendation Medal (8th award), the Army Achievement Medal (5th award), the Bronze Star Medal with valor and 1 oak leaf cluster, and numerous ribbons. CSM Wilson was inducted into the USAREUR Sergeant Morales Club in 1984 and is an honorary member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club. Currently CSM Wilson is serving as the Command Sergeant Major for Multi-National Force - Iraq. He is married to the former Cathy Williams of Pinebluff, North Carolina. They have four sons: David, Jeremy, Robbie, and Zachary. |
