MND-B Soldiers followed approved defensive measures after the woman failed to heed repeated warnings by both Iraqi Police and MND-B Soldiers. The Iraqi Police and Soldiers observed the woman acting erratically. Concerned by the danger she might present to the security forces and civilians, given her repeated failure to respond to warnings, MND-B Soldiers fired two rounds, wounding the woman. This area has been targeted recently by AQI with vehicle-borne improvised-explosive devices and has been the scene of past suicide vest attacks. The ISF evacuated the woman to a nearby hospital where her condition is unknown. MND-B and the Baghdad Operations Command are conducting a joint investigation of this incident. -30- FOR QUERIES, CONTACT MULTI-NATIONAL DIVISION - BAGHDAD PUBLIC AFFAIRS AT:
