DSN: 318-852-1332 IRAQNA: 0790-194-0270 Iraqi National Police bolster 3rd Division forces NUMANIYAH, Iraq – As part of the Iraqi National Police’s continued growth, the majority of the 1,797 graduates here will be on their way to the Abu Risha Brigade in Mosul to assist in fighting terrorism and ensuring the safety and security of the citizens. “These graduates have a difficult and challenging road ahead of them,” said Maj. Gen. Jerry Cannon, commander of the Multi-National Security Transition Command – Iraq’s Civilian Police Assistance Training Team. “They are now well-trained, well-equipped and are up to the challenges they face in maintaining a free, safe and democratic Iraq,” added Cannon. Keynote speaker at the graduation was Iraqi Lt. Gen. Hussein Al-Awadi, Commander, Iraqi National Police. “I want to congratulate you for the success that you have achieved today. You have completed your training with honor and will now fulfill the duty of your brothers in the National Police,” said Al-Awadi. Much of the success and progress shown within the National Police is credited to Al-Awadi’s leadership. “He has been the right man at the right time to take this organization to even greater levels of success and achievement,” said Cannon.
