One Task Force Lightning Soldier killed, one wounded
Multi-National Division – North PAO

TIKRIT, Iraq – A Task Force Lightning Soldier assigned to 3rd Brigade Combat Team,
1st Cavalry Division, died of wounds Monday as a result of an explosion near his
vehicle while conducting operations in Diyala Province.

A second Soldier from this unit was wounded and was transported to a Coalition
Forces’ medical treatment facility.

The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin and
release by the Department of Defense.
