Coalition Forces Capture AQI Cell Leader
Multi-National Corps – Iraq PAO

BAGHDAD – Coalition Force members captured the leader of an al Qaeda in Iraq terrorist cell during operations Jan. 5 in southern Baghdad.  The terrorist is allegedly responsible for coordinating and conducting kidnapping, torture and murders of Iraqi civilians and security forces.
 
The suspect is tied to senior level al Qaeda in Iraq leadership.

Coalition Force members detained an additional person for questioning.

There was minimal damage done to the objective. There were no Iraqi civilian, Iraqi forces or Coalition Force casualties.
