Iraqi Army forces Detains 7 Members of IED Cell in Samarra
Multi-National Corps – Iraq PAO

BAGHDAD
– 4th Iraqi Army Division Forces, with coalition advisors, captured seven members of an improvised explosive device cell during operations Jan. 6 in Samarra. The suspects are responsible for coordinating and conducting IED attacks against Iraqi civilians and security forces.
       
The cell members are also involved in small arms and mortar attacks in the Samarra area. They are suspected of using their homes and businesses as a place to store and sell weapons and explosives to other insurgents conducting violent criminal activities in the area.
       
Minimal damage was done to the objective. There were no Iraqi civilian, Iraqi Force or Coalition force casualties.
