AR RAMADI, Iraq – Iraqi Police found improvised explosive devices and rocket propelled grenades when they uncovered two more weapons caches in northwest Jazeera outside Ramadi Wednesday, bringing their total cache finds for the week to seven.

Iraqi Police from Wallah IP Station, in conjunction with those from Jerashi Checkpoint, were acting on tips from Iraqi civilians when they discovered the munitions.

The first cache included fifteen 9mm TNT rounds, a dozen 90mm Composition A3 rounds, five 155mm High Explosive rounds, four artillery fuses, six 20mm rockets, and nine RPG rounds among other items. The second cache included two 105mm rounds rigged as improvised explosive devices.

“With the support of the people, the Iraqi Army and now Iraqi Police have secured the Jurashi area,” said Capt. Thomas Breslin, a spokesman for the 2-37 Armor with the 1st Brigade, 1st Armored Division.

“Attacks have all but disappeared and police continue to find large caches, denying the enemy the ability come back and stage attacks. This is just another example of Iraqis securing Iraqis for a safe and prosperous future,” Breslin said.

Iraqi Police from Wallah Station have uncovered three caches in the past 36 hours.
