2 Servicemembers killed in Al Anbar province

Multi-National Force – West PAO

CAMP FALLUJAH, Iraq – One Marine assigned to 1st Marine Expeditionary Force died Sunday from wounds sustained due to enemy action while operating in the Multi National Division-Baghdad area of operation, south of Baghdad.

One Soldier assigned to Regimental Combat Team 5 died Monday from wounds sustained due to enemy action while operating in Al Anbar Province.

The names of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of next of kin and release by the Department of Defense. 

For the sake of clarity, recent MNF-W personnel who have died are summarized below:

Friday: (1) - One Marine assigned to Regimental Combat Team 5.

Saturday: (5) - Four Soldiers and one Marine assigned to Regimental Combat Team 5.

Sunday: (3) - Two Marines assigned to 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit and one Marine assigned to 1st
Marine Expeditionary Force.
