Truck Bomb Blast Rocks Rusafa
Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO

BAGHDAD – A bomb encased in a large truck detonated in Rusafa, in the center of the Iraqi capital at approximately 4:45 p.m., Saturday.

The explosive targeted civilians at a busy intersection killing 105 and wounding 251.

A unit from the Iraqi Army and two companies from the 89th Military Police Brigade responded to the scene to assess damage while Iraqi emergency services transported the casualties to the local hospital.

The incident is still under investigation.
